Lawns on Rolling Ground
Hydroseeding in Mansfield works with ground that rolls. The first settlers arrived in the 1840s to the rolling Cross Timbers country of north central Texas, and the town began among oak groves along Walnut Creek, which was originally called Cedar Bluff Creek. Few yards here are perfectly flat, so grading and drainage come first on almost every job.
Grading on slopes
Rolling lots shed water in a set direction, and new homes interrupt that flow. We grade to move runoff around the house and toward a street or swale, then choose the mulch for the steepest part of the yard. Gentle slopes do well with standard hydromulch; steeper ones get erosion control blankets.
Walnut Creek
Walnut Creek gave the area its first church congregation and later its country club. Lots near the creek and its branches often have steep backs that wash in heavy storms. Joe Pool Lake was built partly to control flooding in the Mountain Creek and Walnut Creek watershed, and keeping sediment out of those channels is still part of good site work.
Three counties
Mansfield spans Tarrant, Johnson and Ellis counties. Construction sites in town need silt fence along the low edge, protection at each curb drain and hydromulch on finished grades before the builder moves on.
Parks
The city has 11 parks, 3.5 miles of trail and an 80-acre nature park. Homes that back to those areas often share the same creek slopes. Where a backyard drops toward a park or trail, we leave a stable grassed edge so runoff spreads out instead of cutting a gully through the lawn.

Mansfield Questions
My Mansfield yard slopes a lot. Can hydroseed hold?
Yes. We grade first, then use heavier mulch or erosion control blankets on the steepest parts.
Do you work near Walnut Creek?
Yes. Creek-side lots get sediment control and stable cover on banks so soil does not wash into the channel.
Can you prepare a new Mansfield lot before seeding?
Yes. We do fine grading, topsoil and drainage shaping as part of the job.
Do you serve all three counties Mansfield covers?
Yes, anywhere in the city whether the lot is in Tarrant, Johnson or Ellis County.
